6 DIY projects with wood to kick-start your summer!

It’s this time of the year again.”Which time?” Would you ask? SUMMER time! And this all-time favourite period is the perfect opportunity to start the DIY projects you thought of to embellish your outdoor area.

But maybe you were short of ideas? No problems! We give you our favorite selection from browsing around. There is of course no shortage of possible projects, but here is a place to start!

  • Doormat

We recently made a couple of wood doormats to decorate the entrance of our showroom and office. We have expert craftsmen of course, but trust us that it really isn’t a hard project to take on as a beginner. This plan is similar to what we have done, and you will see how easy it will be!

  • Mini garden and pond.

A perfect idea if all the space available is a balcony, but of course very suitable for a regular garden. Such a cute combo planter-pond would be a perfect DIY project to also start learning about aquaponics.

  • Swing bench

The ultimate “hey, it’s time to chill” feature would definitely be to build a swing bench. It is not the easiest of our favourite projects, but it isn't that difficult either. As you can see in this detailed plan

Cocktail recipe not included in the link but we like you dear reader so we can vouch for this one because we have it (we are not affiliated).

  • DIY wood stain

After enjoying the personal pride of building something yourself, maybe you could go even further by making your own wood stain. All you need is steel wool, white vinegar and instant coffee! Here are the details of how to make it yourself very easily.

  • Wood log sailboat

Whether you enjoy a walk in the woods or down on the beach, you will often come across beautiful logos of all sizes. With a hint of drilling and a couple of pieces of old fabric, you will create something beautiful for your interior or your garden. Then you can go as big as you possibly can!

We are particularly fond of driftwood because of the unknown story behind its journey to the beach.

  • Plant pot cover

Plants are usually beautiful but their pots often lack attractiveness. Instead of investing in expensive good looking pots, cover your cheap ones with homemade wood covers!

One of our clients wanted us to handle it for him, but trust us, they aren’t hard to do.
